Walks & beaches
When you feel the need or urge to get out of Wildernest there are fantastic walks and beaches. We send to guests our favourite itineraries and we are always happy to give suggestions when you are here. There are OS maps and some walking guidebooks in the cottages.
Wildernest is blessed with the choice of walks along Cardigan coast with beaches, coves and villages or in the Cambrian Mountains and foothills. The numerous wildlife reserves are unique excursions and are usually within reach of somewhere to have lunch.
Take a look at the Ceredigion Coast Path webpage – it is probably the most varied part of the 870 mile Wales Coast Path with some fabulous geomorphology and wildlife.
The closest beach is Cei Bach, which is especially quiet and unspoilt. It has no manmade things in sight, apart from 6 groynes and some broken sea defences. We sometimes take a barbeque for a sundowner. For some reason it is not included on the Ceredigion tourist website for beaches – perhaps a good reason to go there.

“Thank you Hugh & Jude for this fantastic stay in Wales. Cuddfan is a little beautiful cottage. We felt at home surrounded by nature, little animals and quiet. We really enjoyed your breakfast and the marvellous dinners prepared by Jude. Thank you very much for the Welsh experience. We shall tell everyone in Italy… Grazie!”
