RESTAURANTS, PUBS & CAFÉSWe send to guests before they arrive our list of some of the places to eat and drink in the vicinity. In summer it is best to make a reservation at some. In summary:
Aberaeron is a perfect Georgian town with some notable pubs – The Harbourmaster, The Castle, Tafarn Bach Cadwgan (a one-room characterful pub). Good restaurants are The Harbourmaster, The Hive, The Summer Grille and The Cellar.
New Quay is a pretty seaside harbour with terraces and beaches; many pubs claim to be Dylan Thomas’s favourite. Our favourite places to eat include The Pepper Pot, Penwig, and The Blue Bell.
Other places for pubs and restaurants are Llangrannog, Cardigan, Aberporth,Tresaith and Aberystwyth.
The closest pub is The Vale of Aeron in Felin Fach, which is three and a half miles downhill from Wildernest. They serve good home cooked dinners but get there before 8:30 or so.
It is often a good idea to book taxis for an evening out.
